During this dificult time that we are out of school, I would like to remind students that learning a foreign language requitres continual practice and review.

Though no assignments will be graded during this time I would like to provide and recomend the following the following Spanish Learning opportunities to practice and review.

  • I highly recomend using Duolingo.  Duolingo makes language learning into a game.  Just 2 lessons a day will have someone confidently speakeing a language in just a few months.  Each lesson takes only five to ten minutes to complete. So it only takes 10-20 minutes a day.  Also, becuase it is a game it is fun, to compete and advance to the next level.  It is available as an app on iOS and Android devices and as a website interface. You can find the app in your devices app store and it is free!  If you would rather use a desktop or laptop computer to use Duolingo the website is https://www.duolingo.com/
  • For a more serious indepth Spanish language study on the Internet I recomend the following website, whose name is easy to remember; https://studyspanish.com .  See it’s not hard to remember a web site with a name as simple as “Study Spanish Dot Com”.  Most lessons at our high school level are completely free and available to all.  As you advance in your language learning there are materials that require membership. The majority of these lessons is geared toward the advanced Spanish language learner and are beyond the scope of a two year High School language course.
  • For online video instruction there are several great YouTube Channels. However some are geared toward small children  todlers and preschoolers and others are not very appropriate for high school education.  One YouTube channel that strongly recomend is “Why Not Spanish”  the link is https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCIdFcLCIJQ_YMrormG_nU8w/featured
